Unicorns and Rainbows

Updated: Nov 27, 2022

If you read my post titled Stop Over-Thinking, you'll have learned how to know what your intuition is. If you haven't read Stop Over-Thinking, you might want to read that one before you continue. So, you might still be wondering how do you know that is, in fact, your intuition, and you're not just making shit up or are a crazy person? Listen, if you can't sit still long enough to be with your own thoughts, you're up shits creek without a paddle. I'm kidding! But seriously, think of it this way, if you can't sit still long enough to be with your own thoughts, why would you trust a voice or feeling when you're at a loss as to where it came from? Good point, right? Listen, all I have to say is, at least you don't have to decipher conscious thoughts, subconscious thoughts, and dead people jibber-jabbing in your ear. So quit your complaining! Yeah, you thought you had problems!

OK, intuition. If you're not hearing or listening to your intuition, you might be too busy. But aren't most people busy? Of course, they are. So why can some hear it and others can't? Most likely they've learned to tap into it. I wish this answer were black or white, but there are a multitude of rainbows in between. I'm just the unicorn trying to help you figure this out! Chances are, I'll have a million more posts on this topic.

I would say the most significant difference is filling every second of every day with endless tasks because you're looking to fulfill a desire or fill a void. Your reaction might be, "Ugh, yeah, OK." That means you're somewhere on the scale of being offended. Good, I hope you are. I know from enough experience and personal development when something evokes enough emotion within you, whether it's good or bad, it promotes growth. So we're on the right path! OK, Where was I before you got all offended? Oh yes. There's a part of you that is so fearful of being alone with you because you're afraid of what you might hear. Maybe some negative self-talk, some bullshit stories of guilt that those around us instilled in us as we were growing up of being lazy if we sit still or are selfish if we do something for ourselves, or something of the like. Those stories might be things that were actually said to you or were simply implied through your tiny watchful eyes. It's amazing the thoughts and things that become ingrained in our subconscious by merely being an innocent spongey bystander.

On the other side of that busy rainbow is clear knowing or what we can call the pot of gold. That gold is affirmative, positive, and calm. There is no anxiety or stress about getting tasks done or stress about anything, as a matter of fact. You just know everything will get done. You also know you'll be on time(10 minutes early if you're me is on time. Being late is a huge pet peeve of mine!). In this state is when you can hear your intuition loud and clear. And the reason for that is when you reach this state of calm and clear knowing, you 100% trust yourself and those crazy voices you hear that say, "take a hard right, NOW!" That's because even though your intuition is guided from the big man upstairs or Miss Universe, or mother earth, it's within you. There's no negative self-talk, and there certainly is no second-guessing yourself. And if you are ever late, you were delayed for the reason that may have saved your life. You're probably thinking that sounds like living in fantasy land or some crap, but I assure you that life of ease does exist. I have always followed this innate guidance and blind faith to trust that I was exactly where I was supposed to be at all times. It was also present through the years of hectic schedules and negative self-talk; it was a little less prominent during those times, though. It took me years to understand what this was and learn to take advantage of it. If I can give you an ounce of how to hone in on your inner guidance and make your life a tad more manageable, I will be thrilled!

Now you're wondering how you can also live in a fantasy land! Have you ever tried meditating? If not, now is as good of a time as any to start. My mentor, Pat Longo has some great guided meditations you can follow HERE on Amazon Music, however, there are many available. Prepare for your hectic life to feel less daunting. You can also read Pat's book The Gifts Beneath Your Anxiety: Simple Spiritual Tools to Find Peace, Awaken the Power Within, and Heal Your Life by Pat Longo. Now, go get yourself grounded and learn to quiet that busy mind of yours.

While your meditations are downloading, ask yourself, what's your ammo?
