Permission and why you need it

It's safe to say that everyone goes through a phase in life where they feel lost. It could be as a child, an adolescent, or an adult. Hell, you could feel lost during every stage of life, and even multiple times in every stage! Raise your hand if you've been there. Heyyooo! 🙋🏼‍♀️

Life is about ebbs and flows, highs and lows, sidecars, and avocados. 🥑 You lost? That is exactly my point! First, you're in the groove, following what I'm saying, then you're as lost as my mom's glasses(Not so fun ghost story from a hunting trip in Kansas)! More on that some other time.

The point is life throws us loops, and we have to learn to adjust to those changes with grace. Grace is important, and yet we don't give ourselves permission to give it enough. So we have to learn to give ourselves and others grace for the sake of learning. We all do our best with the information we have.

I talked briefly about The Confessions and The Confessions Money Bootcamp in my last post. Talk about grace. These courses are filled with women with the most understanding, authentic, and genuine souls I've ever encountered. When I first saw the confessions course, I bought it thinking I would get some fantastic recipes and food wisdom to nourish myself and my little one. I certainly did, and so much more about womb health, cycle health, metabolic health, and ancestral wisdom.

What I never expected to get out of it was permission. Permission to nourish myself in ways I never thought possible.

How often do you know you need a day to do absolutely nothing and yet still push yourself to meet a deadline that may or may not exist? Or the times you know you should eat something or cut something out because your body is hinting, yet you ignore your body? Or what about when someone isn't meeting your needs, and you shut your mouth to avoid conflict? Whatever it might be, there is always guilt that follows.

Whatever it is, we need to give ourselves permission to nourish our mind, body, and soul. And most importantly, we need to give ourselves grace in the face of guilt if we don't give ourselves permission in the first place. Remember, we're all doing the best we can with the information we have. So instead of beating ourselves up with negative self-talk or sabotage, make a plan for the next time. Be proactive and give yourself permission to remove the temptation, schedule a day off, or set boundaries.

So during those times of guilt for not listening to our innate divine guidance, it's easy to feel lost. When you have a community of women confessing their deepest darkest secrets and sharing incredible ancestral wisdom, the guilt melts away, and we remember what it's like to be a human. We're not alone. The things we experience are the same as everyone else. The difference is that ancestral wisdom used to be passed on through mentorship and apprenticeship. Today, you can't even poop unless you've consulted a "licensed professional."

Come on! We're being taught that living is way more complicated than it actually is and the place to begin living is to give yourself permission! So don't deny yourself. Instead, check out the confessions and give yourself permission to live your life. I give you permission! 🙋🏼‍♀️
